With this “pill” we’d like to present some reflections on the role of governments on the economies.

Every self-respecting economy needs technological, urban and institutional infrastructures to move with the times. In the institutional area, many European governments must catch up with the delay of their democratic and political architectures. This is required to avoid stopping the economies and to foster them instead. In this historical moment many political systems are affected by the obsolescence of their welfare state, conceived in a different era when representativity was the main focus . This holds true especially for the post-war period. Today, to make faster choices, we need governability, in line with the market and the rapid evolution of people’s custom. These processes of change, involving  different social layers in a wide debate, are necessarily slow. We could hope to see a new period of development and well-being only if these processes will be carried out and we will accept the challenge of globalization with a renewed optimism, more modern in our thinking and keeping up with the times.
